Day 36--Manitowoc WI to Ludington MI--July 26th

Avg Speed N/A

Total Miles Ridden 2572
Miles To Go 1057
Today's schedule was built around getting us on the 2:00 PM ferry crossing from Manitowoc across the sixty miles of Lake Michigan to Ludington. We got a late morning start (for us) and spent a few hours in downtown Manitowoc before boarding the boat.
The Badger is a 400 foot long, old coal burning ferry that carries a couple of hundred cars and trucks and about 700 people. We marched our bicycles on board and took the rest of the day off. The boat was comfortable for the four hour ride and the weather was perfect. We got to Michigan at 7:00 PM in the eastern time zone.
Tomorrow we have our last really long ride (113 miles) across Michigan to Mt. Pleasant.
